Nov 16 01:43pm
Serves
Serves 4-6
Ingredients
  • 2 tblsps oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1kg beef mince
  • 420g can minestrone soup
  • 420g can baked beans
  • 1/2 x 375g packet fresh lasagne sheets
  • 3 cups grated pizza cheese
  • Chopped fresh parsley, to garnish
Method
1 Heat oil in a large saucepan. Add onion and mince. Cook, stirring, until browned. Stir in undiluted soup and beans. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes or until thick.
2 Cover the base of a greased, shallow ovenproof dish (10-cup capacity) with lasagne sheets, cutting to fit if necessary. Spread with 1/3 of the mince mixture, sprinkle with 1/4 of the cheese and then top with lasagne sheets. Repeat layering with remaining mince mixture, cheese and lasagne sheets, finishing with cheese. Cover with foil.
3 Cook the lasagne in a moderate oven (180C) for 30 minutes. Remove foil and cook for a further 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
4 Serve lasagne sprinkled with parsley to garnish.

I am a Brit and live in USA and that is the most disgusting recipe for lasagna and not even close to anything edible....oh my god, baked beans?.....lasagna is so good just the way it is supposed to be and with some decent ricotta cheese....yikes

just because a recipe is for kids doesnt mean it should be boring and a load of trash nutritionally.
whoever wrote this recipe needs to look seriously at what their doing, how about encouraging some tasty veges like sweet potato, mushrooms, spinach... anything tastes good to kids in lasagne.

mostly negative comments ,kids who like baked beans would probably like this .but mine are spaghetti eaters ,so i think ill try substituting with a can of cheesy spaghetti ........ lol

I know one thing for sure - my kids would never eat it

has anyone actually cooked this? i think you'll find that the baked beans will mix with the meat and the minestrone and it's a good way to get your kids to eat beans. Whoever suggested spinach is ridiculous - spinach looks bad in food and is a very obvious taste so i can hardly imagine a kid choosing lasagne with spinach over lasagne with baked beans. don't dis it before you try it i say!
