Mum's corner: A kick-start breakfast

Jun 30 04:18pm

If your child’s school doesn’t schedule morning tea until late mid-morning, your little ones can end up ravenous.

And you know the result – instead of concentrating in class, their growling tummies will drive them to distraction.

Make sure your child’s breakfast is based on low-GI carbs such as toasted grainy bread with an egg, porridge with milk and brown sugar or a yoghurt fruit smoothie.

This will help them to feel fuller for longer, getting them through the morning to that all-important recess.
