Sandra Bullock, 44, is one of Hollywood’s most loved actresses, winning hearts with a string of romantic comedies.
Here, she opens up about the man who’s won her over, husband of three years Jesse James, her life with his three kids – Chandler, Jesse Jr and Sunny – and her own baby plans.
What do you love about Jesse?
Jesse complements me and gives me a nice net to feel more adventurous within.
Can he watch you do romantic scenes?
He doesn’t like it, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. If he was like: ‘I don’t care,’ I’d be like: ‘I’m sorry, what?’ It’s not an easy thing for any spouse to watch, but he understands.
What are your plans for starting a family?
If I’m blessed in that department, then great. But I get to enjoy Jesse’s kids. We also have a two-legged dog that walks on her hind legs, so that’s my baby practice for now.
How do you manage to look so good?
Plastic surgery and liposuction – kidding!
Do you feel pressure to look good in Hollywood?
I go: ‘I’ve got to lose weight so I can fit in this.’ But I also go: ‘I haven’t been to the gym in a year. Should I go? No.’ I’ll start running again, but there’s something sexy about a gut – not a beer gut, just a little paunch. I love that.
So, really, what’s your secret?
My mother instilled in us from the beginning the things to do and the things not to do. I think when you like yourself and are happy with yourself, people find you attractive.
What was it like doing your first ever nude scene in your new film The Proposal?
Sadly, it makes people laugh, so I had to be secure with that. It was odd. There are things stuck onto your private parts, and sometimes they become unstuck. The crew was like: ‘Your bits are hanging out. Cover them up!’
