Clothing eco- friendly? Yes, believe it! You can do your bit for the environment even when shopping!
From baby clothes to cosmetics, bras to bedding, you can do it all the natural way with Organic Cotton. The finishing product is not only organic but in many cases the production process is too!
What does this mean?
Products are grown and/ or made with either no toxins (chemicals and insecticides) or made with commercial additives that have minimal environmental consequences. At times this also means the process abides by Fair Trade regulations too, ensuring work standards are met wherever the product is made.
There are many enhancements to the growth and manufacturing of cotton that I had never even thought of! These are not necessarily bad, but if you want to be eco-friendly then you should be looking for Certified Organic Cotton products.
But don’t stop there! There is not only Organic Cotton available for the eco-friendly fashion conscious! Many materials can be Certified Organic- silk, hemp, wool and many more!
This extra environmental effort does come at a cost though. The products are available and on the increase but definitely not in every shop or even every suburb!
However, don’t get too worried, the internet is thriving with sites to buy or simply learn about this new and worthy trend! In my opinion, we're talking about environmental sustainability through fashion here, which more than compensates for the added time and expense!
More ideas for going green: wash your clothes with biodegradable liquid/ powder and dry your clothes on the line rather than in the dryer!
Finally, that internet frenzy I mentioned earlier, check it out for yourself- I found these great websites, some that you can buy from too!
