Keira Knightley gets angry about her weight

Sep 12 11:34am

Keira Knightley wants to get pregnant so people won't think she is anorexic.

'The Duchess' actress - who is often criticised for her slim figure - believes she would get a break from her detractors if she had a baby.

She said: "That's a good reason to have a kid. They won't say I'm anorexic any more. ...I've got to have a child."

The 23-year-old actress - who recently revealed she has been feeling "jumpy" after a passer-by jumped out and screamed abuse at her while she walked alone near her London home - also claims the constant questions about her weight are "not appropriate".

She added: "I can't win. One week I'm anorexic and now my curves are too big. I mean really? It's a joke. What's next? Am I too tall, too short? Well, I'm sorry I'm me.

"It's so predictable to be asked about it, but to me it's not appropriate."

The star's actor boyfriend Rupert Friend - who she met on the set of ‘Pride and Prejudice' - recently revealed he is in no rush to have children and is not planning to propose to Keira any time soon.

Do you think that the attention of Keira Knightley's weight is unfair? Or do you think that the actress is too skinny? Share your thoughts with other New Idea readers below

Personally I think she looks funny, her shape is not normal really, but this isn't really my business it is hers and I don't think the media should hound her about this. It is her business.

She isn't too thin... She looks great, feels good, then she is at the ideal weight!!!

I believe that keira is NOT anorexic, and that it is totally unfair that people critisize her about being two skinny, she is a very good role model for girls.

Maybe I don't read enough people magazines, but the only times I hear about Keira's weight are from her herself. Alot of this silliness stemmed from her letting marketers add breasts in movie promos, making her a kind of "figurehead" for the false body image - she could take a stand against it maybe

Although I agree it is not polite to ask about her weight to want a child just to put on weight isnt right either. She sould descide if she is happy with the way she looks and ignore others comments about her. If she is healthy and she doesnt have a problem with her self then ignore the rest.

It's horrible to be judged about your weight, whether over or underweight. People just seem to think they have more right to say something if you're too skinny.
From the time I left school til I was 38 weighed between 40-45kgs. Complete strangers would make comments & people always wanted to feed me

I am also skinny but it doesn't bother me if people say I am anorexic. Its for me to know.

I am also one of those people who is constantly harassed by total strangers and told that I am too skinny. It is SO inappropriate and totally humiliating. But using other peoples body issues as a good reason to have a child is far more inappropriate don't you think?

Before anyone says she's anorexic, look at her legs- that's where she gains weight first. She's definitely not anorexic, that's just how her body is. I think the attention paid to her should be focused on her acting work and interests because that's what's really interesting about her.
