The star, one of only two people to have received the "Sexiest Man Alive" title twice, says the vehicle is not just embarrassing in terms of its appearance, but also because it prevents him from having passengers.

He said, "It can be embarrassing. There's nowhere to hide, because it's just me behind the wheel and there isn't enough space for anyone else.

"But it goes from zero to 60mph in four seconds, which is faster than virtually any other car on the road, so I can take off with a burst of speed if I get too many insults."

George revealed that later in the year he is upgrading the Tango for a Tesla Roadster.

"Teslas are like Ferraris,"he said, "It's going to make less of a dent on my pride than the Tango! And I can take passengers which means I can make friends again!"
