Cynthia Nixon: My ideal man is a woman

The 'Sex And The City: The Movie' actress has been in a relationship with education activist Christine Marinoni since 2003, and insists the couple are a real "partnership".

Nixon said: "I have to say that in terms of the particular person I'm with I guess I do feel that the ideal man is a woman. I feel that she's much more intuitive about what's going on with me. She is much more willing to treat it like a partnership."

The 42-year-old actress - who has two children, 11-year-old Samantha and five-year-old Charles, with her musician ex-boyfriend Danny Mozes - is not sure if she would love Marinoni if she was a man.

She said: "I'm in love with her because she's her. It's hard to know if I'd be in love with her if she were a man. If she were a man, would she be different? Would she still be this intuitive? Would she still be this devoted?"

haha - reminds me of that episode where Miranda is made partner in her firm and her boss tries to set her up with a girl at the softball game and they kiss in the elevator and she's all "definitely not gay" - so weird though, who woulda thunk it!

Maybe she was always bisexual and why not? The best of both worlds! Everyone should be like that without prejudice.

No-one asks Harrison Ford if he would still love Callista Flockheart if she was a man?!?

Sometimes having two people that are both "intuitive", "feeling", "devoted" can be a tad intense and potentially explosive. Having one half of a partnership being a plegmatic labrador is a good safety valve.
