Just like other toddlers, Hollywood's little princess, Suri Cruise, celebrated her second birthday in time-honoured style - surrounded by balloons, flowers and the love of her extended family.

With Tom and Katie's mansion undergoing repairs, the Cruise-Holmes clan - including Katie's parents Kathy and Martin, who flew in from Ohio - gathered at a gated Mediterranean estate high in the hills behind LA. The property has reportedly been used by the Church of Scientology as a retreat.

'It was wonderful to have the family all gather together to celebrate this special occasion,' a source says. 'Suri was the star of the show and it seemed she loved every minute.'

The afternoon barbecue was followed by fun and games for 20 tiny invited guests, although little Suri spent most of the party snuggled in mum Katie's arms. There, she had a bird's-eye view of proceedings - including Tom stealing a kiss from his wife in front of both his mum Mary and Isabella, his daughter with ex-wife Nicole Kidman.

A devoted Tom was even spotted ferrying Katie's shoes around
as the afternoon wore on!

'His favourite role has always been as doting father.'

Suri's big brother Conor kept a close watch over the party food while Isabella, with garlands of flowers in her hair, charmed guests with her devotion to her baby sister as she chalked
a sweet message - Happy B-Day Suri - on the pavement.
