Enter an original submission via the internet at www.yahoo7.com.au/famous, www.girlfriend.com.au & www.newidea.com.au. All entries must include the required skill component.
Entry is open to all residents of Australia except employees and immediate families of the Promoter, associated companies and agencies. The Promoter is Pacific Magazines Pty Ltd, 35-51 Mitchell Street, McMahons Point, NSW, 2060 (ABN 16 097 410 896).
The competition commences on 30/04/08 at 09:00 and closes on 27/05/08 at 23:59 AEST. The winners will be the best entries selected by the judging panel, having regard to skill, creativity and originality, at the Promoter's premises on 02/06/08 at 2pm.
Total prize value up to $6955, as at 10/06/08. There is one major prize winner across all three magazine titles, as well as 45 runners up. Major Prize: 2 return economy flights from the winner's nearest capital city (Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart) to Sydney - Valued up to $600 each ($1200 total); Two night stay at the Vibe hotel in Sydney in a twin room - valued at up to $500; Ticketek voucher valid for 6 months - valued at $400; Transfers and/or taxis to and from the airport - valued at up to $200; $200 spending money for the weekend. 45 runners up will receive a Kylie Showtime perfume, valued at $99 each.
In relation to ticketmaster voucher, gift vouchers may be used to purchase tickets to participating events and other qualifying items through Ticketmaster's participating retail outlets and venue box offices. Gift Vouchers are not redeemable on ticketmaster.com.au or through the Ticketmaster call centre. Gift Vouchers accepted only for Australian events. Not replaceable if lost or stolen and not redeemable for cash unless required by law.
In relation to Vibe hotel, In the event that, for any reason whatsoever, a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by vibe, then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element. Prize is not refundable, non- endorsable or non-transferable. Bookings are subject to availability and seasonal embargo periods apply. Vibe Hotels Prize is two consecutive nights accommodation in a Vibe Room at a Vibe Hotel in Sydney and does not include any extra charges (ie, mini-bar, in-house movie, telephone usage, etc). Bookings should be made in advance to avoid disappointment. Additional spending money, meals, insurance, taxes, passports, visas, travel to and from Vibe and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the winner. Unless expressly stated, all other expenses become the responsibility of the winner. A valid credit card is required at check-in to cover any incidentals incurred throughout the stay. Winners will be issued with a Vibe Hotels Gift Certificate valid for 6 months from the date of issue, which will enable them to book their accommodation at a Vibe Hotel in Sydney.
In regards to Virgin blue airline tickets, tickets are non-redeemable for cash. All taxes, surcharges and levies are the responsibility of the Beneficiary and must be paid out at the time of booking. Travel is on confirmed space (ie. You cannot be bumped off the flight) but it is still subject to seat availability at the time of booking. Tickets are non-transferable and flights cannot be taken during peak travel periods. Changes to flights once booked incur a $40 fee per change per guest (one change only per guest). Flight requests are to be submitted via email a minimum of three days prior to the date of travel. Flights are valid for 6 months from the date the winner is announced.
Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions all other expenses are the responsibility of the winner (and their companions) including but not limited to spending money, transfers, meals, drinks, incidentals, mini-bar, laundry, room service, telephone calls, activities, airport taxes (including departure taxes), energy surcharges, government taxes and fees, gratuities, services charges, passports, visas, travel insurance, pre and post accommodation, optional activities or excursions and all other ancillary costs. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the winner at check-in to the hotel, for all incidental charges. If the winner is under 18, the winner must be accompanied by an adult. The winner must travel on the same flights and itinerary as their travelling companion. Travel arrangements to and from the winner's nearest capital city airport do not form part of the prize and are the responsibility of the winner and their travelling companion. The travel prize cannot be used as part payment for another airfare package. Frequent flyer miles cannot be accrued on this prize. Flights and accommodation are subject to availability at the time of booking and cannot be exchanged for other destinations. Bookings are subject to all suppliers booking conditions & availability (including but not limited to capacity limitations and other restrictions. Travel restrictions & blackout dates apply. Prizes cannot be taken during peak periods, public holidays or school holidays, and the winners must provide all suppliers with a minimum of 21 days advance notice of intention to travel. Embargo restrictions apply during certain periods. Prize must be taken by 09/12/08. All elements of the prize must be taken together. In the event a winner does not take the prize by the time stipulated, then the entire prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of prize. The Promoter does not guarantee that the winner will enjoy the travel prize or be suited to the type of travel prize that is offered. The Promoter is not responsible for any acts of god, such as adverse weather conditions or industrial action or civil commotion,that may occur whilst the winner is travelling. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and prize supplier's requirements.
By entering the competition, and by collecting a prize, the winner acknowledges and accepts that driving, travel and any other activities comprising the prize, are inherently dangerous and may result in death, injury, incapacity, damage to property or other losses. The winner, for themselves and their executors, releases the Promoter, its agents, officers and employees, from any and all legal claims in connection with any death, injury, incapacity, damage to property or other losses arising from or connected with the collection or enjoyment of the prize. Where the prize involves driving or travel, all winners under 18 years old must be accompanied by their legal guardian at all times. Before being eligible to collect a prize, all winners must provide to the Promoter proof of identity, and if the winner is under 18 years old, the full name, address and telephone number of the winner's legal guardian. Before any winner is eligible to collect a prize, the guardian will be required to sign a release in terms of the release given by the winner above. The release will also require the winner's guardian to accept responsibility for the acts and forbearances of the winner. Failure to provide such proof, particulars or releases will immediately invalidate the winner's entitlement to the prize, subject to state legislation.
The judges' decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on each person who enters. Chance plays no part in determining the winner. No correspondence will be entered into. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries. Prizes are subject to availability, not transferable or exchangeable and, with the exception of cash prizes, cannot be taken as cash. If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value, subject to State Regulation.
Prizes will be sent to the winner's nominated address as stated in their original entry. The Promoter and their associated agencies, and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.
If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned including infection by computer virus, line drop out, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter [subject to any written directions given under the Lottery And Gaming Regulations 1993 (SA)] reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems of the phone or of any phone network, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person's phone related to or resulting from participation or sending or receiving of any communication or of any materials in this competition.

The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity and proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter.
The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the Promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter's ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given under the Lottery and Gaming Regulation 1993 (SA).
The Promoter and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur: whilst undertaking any travel won on or connected with their entry into the competition; in the participation in any prize; as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail and/or entries; due to the broadcast of any program relating to the competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person; in relation to failure of an entry to be received on the website on account of technical problems or traffic congestion; arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any computer equipment, software, internet connection, any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer software related to or resulting from participation in this promotion.
Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the prize winner and their travel companion. It is the responsibility of the prize-winner to enquire about local issues and conditions at destinations prior to travel. All prize travel will be subject to the carriers General Conditions of Carriage. The Promoter and carrier make no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including local government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade at www.smartraveller.gov.au. Prizes for travel for a particular event or attraction must be taken to coincide with the event or the times and dates during which the attraction is available.
The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available to the Promoter, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
The Promoter collects entrants' personal information in order to conduct the promotion and notify winners. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion.
In participating in the prizes, the winners agree to participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winners (and their companions) agree to grant the Promoter a perpetual and exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winners (and their companions) will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
Winners should seek independent financial advice about any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings.
The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered, including but not limited to direct or consequential loss, or personal injury suffered or sustained during the course of prize winning trips or in connection with the redemption of and/or use of any other prizes. Any change in value of the prize occurring between the publishing date and date the prize is claimed is not the responsibility of the Promoter.
