Brad is taking action to ensure Angelina's never alone after the star, who is six months pregnant, collapsed twice in 48 hours.
He's spared no expense to surround his lover with the best medical care available because he's terrified she's risking her health and that of their unborn child with her all-action lifestyle and refusal to slow down.
Brad instructed the new team of medical professionals, dubbed 'health bodyguards', to monitor her every move and to try their hardest to make Angelina follow their advice.
Brad, 44, wants Angelina to give up flying, especially tiring trips on her own. But despite reports she's developed gestational diabetes, the 34-year-old actress insists on maintaining her busy schedule.
Angelina spent last week jetting back and forth to Washington to take part in political hearings regarding the Iraq War.
In fact, since the couple discovered they were pregnant in November, Angelina's taken no less than 13 flights, visiting destinations as far afield as Iraq and London - despite Brad begging her to slow down.
But when Angelina collapsed during an 18-hour flight from Iraq to LA, and was plagued with dizzy spells, leg cramps and nosebleeds, Brad decided to take matters into his own hands.
When he told Angelina about his plan to have a nurse travelling with her at all times, she hit the roof and stormed out of their Texas house. But she only made it a few steps out the door before she collapsed again, this time in front of their sons Maddox and Pax.
Only after this second dramatic incident did Angelina agree to Brad's plan, but even now the mother of four is accusing him of being melodramatic.
A close friend of Brad tells New Idea: 'Brad's really worried. He's at his wit's end trying to get Ange to take it easy.
'He wants her to accept she's in her final trimester and she has to take it easy,' the friend says. 'But it seems she had to push it to the limit before she'd agree to follow doctor's orders.
'Ange thinks she's superwoman and she can do everything all at once - it's one of the reasons Brad loves her,' the source says.
But he gets so concerned about her and the baby. He might seem like a tough guy on screen, but in real life he's a family man and wants to wrap Ange and the kids in cotton wool.'
Ironically Brad's determination to look after his family is driving a wedge between him and Angelina. According to a member of her trusted inner circle, it's causing considerable tension.
'Ange's going along with this nurse thing and she's agreed to monitor her diet with a dietitian but, to be honest, Brad's going way over the top,' our source explains.
'Pregnancy has a huge effect on a woman, and because Ange has fainted and had nosebleeds doesn't mean she needs to mollycoddled,' the source says.
'Brad needs to understand if he tries to stop her from living her life, she's going to want him out of it.'
