Courteney Cox and her husband David Arquette played Mr and Mrs Average and their daughter Coco loved every minute of it, when she celebrated a little friend's birthday party.

The happy family enjoyed blue skies and sunshine, with a slight chill in the breeze, at Cold Water Park in Los Angeles.

Coco, touted by her mother to follow in the footsteps of her famous parents, put on a show as she joyfully blew bubbles and ate watermelon. A passer-by said it took several glances to realise they were the hot Hollywood power couple.

'They just blended in. It was this sweet little party in the park and they seem to be no different to any other family, except that they're huge stars,' the onlooker says.

Coco was in her element with the undivided attention of her doting mum and dad.

'She was so cute, she was wearing a blue hoodie just like her mum,' the onlooker says.

'When Coco was in the arms of her mum or dad she was just so peaceful and happy.'

At three Coco, who is named after the nickname given to her mother as a child, is already starting to look like her famous mum.

And during filming of Courteney's first major TV role since her breakthrough part in Friends, Coco proves she is more than comfortable to hang out on set.

As Courteney plays a ruthless magazine editor in the drama series Dirt, Coco is right at home mixing with the other cast and crew.

'She's an actor, for sure; she's a little performer,' Courteney says.

In Courteney's next major role, a film called The Big Change, she plays a Southern American socialite who is forced to grapple with the confronting truth that her daughter has embraced hip-hop culture.

But a friend of the family says there's no risk of such stilted and closed-minded parenting when it comes to Coco's life.

The friend says: 'Courteney and David really want Coco to grow into her own person.'
