Brooke Shields is the star of the new series Lipstick Jungle, which is shocking America with some of the sexiest TV scenes in history. And the mother of two has stunned Hollywood by refusing to use a body double for the scantily clad parts.

'I'm very proud to be a mother of two and not use a body double - I'm very happy with my body!' says Brooke, who's mum to daughters Rowan, four, and Grier, almost two.

Her decision is the beginning of a backlash against the constant pressure for perfection in Hollywood. Even stick-thin young stars such as Keira Knightley and Angelina Jolie have admitted to using body doubles - but Brooke was determined to show that her 42-year-old body still has what it takes to set pulses racing.
And the sexy storylines of Lipstick Jungle - which will screen here soon on Seven - are giving her plenty of opportunities to prove it.

The show is based on the novel by Sex and the City creator Candace Bushnell - and a critic who has seen it says: 'Lipstick Jungle makes SATC look like a church play!'

The hot new series is being screened at 10pm in the US in order to get some of the steamiest scenes in history past the censors.

Initially Brooke - who starred as a child prostitute in Pretty Baby at the age of 12 and in a famously sexy jeans ad at 15 - was surprised by all the nudity and kinky plotlines, because she thought the project was a comedy.

'I thought I would be more the comic relief, but I'm turning out to have as many love scenes as the other girls do,' says Brooke, who's married to TV producer Chris Henchy.

But after adjusting to the prospect of stripping off for the camera, Brooke decided that the audience at home would see her amazing - and real - post-baby body, without the help of a twenty-something model.

'I guess it's a shout-out to women to be proud of what your body looks like at this age, and why not?' sexy Brooke says.
