Since then Jen's refused to have anything to do with the couple or their four children, Maddox, Zahara, Pax and Shiloh.

In fact, the 39-year-old actress has made every effort to avoid seeing her ex and his lover and has even managed to never be in the same room as them.

However, after years of talking through the painful issues with her therapist, Jennifer's now decided to conquer her fears and finally meet Brad and Angelina in public.

When Jennifer was asked to co-host Oscars fundraising party The Night Before, she faced the confronting choice of sharing hosting duties with Brad and Angelina, or skipping it.

Until now, The Break-Up star's always opted out of events she knew the pair would attend, but this time she's shocked Hollywood by saying yes.

Her bold move comes after a session with her therapist in which they decided Jennifer's refusal to speak to Brad, 44, and Angelina, 32, was actually causing her more pain and she'd do better to face her fears.

But barely a week after she sent back her acceptance to
the famously lavish pre-Oscar event, fate took another cruel twist for the tormented star.

News broke that Angelina is pregnant again and the story made headlines the world over.

Now Jennifer is faced with a completely different prospect - a meeting with Brad and a glowingly pregnant Angelina.

'This couldn't have come at a worse time, it's a real nightmare for Jen,' a close friend says.

'I was really proud of her for trying to move on, but I'm worried that seeing Angelina carrying Brad's child will be too much to bear.'

The friend adds that when Angelina was pregnant with Shiloh, who's now one, she spent most of the nine months in France and Namibia, which was a blessing for Jen.

'But this time Angelina's in LA and so far she's attended every public event she's been invited to - and now Jen is faced with
a tough situation,' the pal says.

'If she goes ahead with the party, then she has to face Angelina, who will not make any effort to hide the fact that she's proud to be pregnant with Brad's baby.

'But if she backs out now, it's like admitting that she hasn't moved on or come to terms with Brad leaving her.'

Jennifer's friends say Brad has told her that he'd love for them all to become friends. 'He obviously doesn't realise how much he hurt her,' Jen's friend says, 'or how it breaks her heart every time she sees new pictures of him playing the family man.

'When they were together he wouldn't grow up or take any responsibility. So seeing him acting like father of the year is a really bitter pill for Jen to swallow.'
