To reduce your risk of cancer, guzzle more of the fresh stuff on a regular basis.
Our "spring"-back-into-shape smoothie's easy-to-follow instructions show you how:
Antioxidant Booster
1 mango (look for the Kensington Pride variety or the canned kind)
1/2 fresh pineapple (canned is cool)
1 punnet blueberries (frozen is fine)
Dash of orange juice
Directions:
Peel and cut the mango and pineapple into cubes. Whiz everything into the blender; add more OJ if it's too pulpy. Serves two.
PINEAPPLES contain bromelain (an enzyme that aids digestion by helping break down protein) and are a great source of fibre and vitamin C, vital for healthy blood, bones and teeth.
MANGOES are loaded with vitamin A, which maintains healthy skin cells; vitamin C, which boosts our immune system; and potassium, which lowers blood pressure and strengthens muscles.
BLUEBERRIES are low in kilojoules, virtually fat free and a good source of fibre. They're also very high in antioxidants, helping the fight against cancer.
