Who needs a rainbow? In the July issue of marie claire, five women tell us why they love – and live in – just one shade.
Valeria 'ValBlu' McCulloch, a shoe designer, only wears blue
Most people wouldn't dream of taking a texta to a pair of Christian Louboutin heels, but for Valeria it's the only way to ensure her shoes match her monochromatic blue wardrobe.
"I buy white Chanel and Christian Louboutin shoes, and I colour them blue with a custom-ordered electric-blue Sharpies [pen]. I also go to leather fairs and have a factory make me shoes."
The designer, who studied colour therapy at university and favours blue nail polish and mascara, says blue appeals to her as it signifies loyalty and peace. "The UN has a blue flag...Christians used it to denote divinity. Blue was the most interesting colour historically."
And it's not just Valeria's wardrobe that's dominated by various hues of blue – her bedroom, from her Nintendo to her bedside table, pillow and Blackberry, are also all blue.
