Models take to the runway as a picture of serenity and calm, which is the complete antithesis of the chaos occurring backstage. Sneaking behind the scenes yesterday, I saw the girls who'd just finished one show, where their hair had been styled into an Amy Winehouse-esque matted beehive, rush to their next call. The hair for that show called for smooth, bouncy waves that had to be created in minutes. From a laquered updo...cue mad panic. That's where I snapped this pic of a model reading her book with four (yes, four) hair stylists tending to her tresses. In fact, forget designer bags, books and iPods are the accessories du jour backstage. I guess that's how the girls remain calm prior to stepping onto the catwalk – there's really nothing like a great tune, or a good book.
