The g-spot is named in honor of German physician Ernst Grafenberg, but was discovered as a source of sexual pleasure by world-renowned sex educator Beverly Whipple, Ph.D.
Described as "an area approximately the size of a dime, located about two-thirds the length of your middle finger inside the vagina entrance ... on the tummy side of the vaginal wall" by bestselling author Lou Paget (www.loupaget.com), many women have difficulty finding their g-spot, because its size, dimension, and location vary from woman to woman.
Dr. Whipple suggests that the easiest way to find it is by getting in a squat position, putting two fingers up inside yourself, and feeling around for a small area whose tissue surface is a bit ridgy. Think dime-size, though some g-spots are bigger. If in encountering this area you feel stimulated -- if not aroused -- as you touch yourself, then you have more than likely found your spot!
Hot Spot Technique:
Show your partner the location of your g-spot manually, then suggest a position which maximizes his ability to reach and stimulate it. Try rear entry, standing up. Keep in mind another Lou Paget gem: "rear entry is especially good for women who have delivered vaginally, since their nerve pathways are more 'alert' and sensitive to receiving stimulation because the vaginal barrel is more flexible and the penis can hit the right spot more easily."
