Tucked away from the main thoroughfare of North Perth is an oasis for glamazons and lovers of eclectic homeswares alike. Situated in a disused post office, POST Emporium takes the idea of concept store to a whole new level, offering keen shoppers high-end fashion mixed with a vintage bric-a-brac wonderland.
The man behind this enchanting shopping experience is fashion designer Aurelio Costarella, whose red carpet gowns have adorned such celebrity clientele as Cate Blanchett, Victoria Beckham, Rihanna and Eva Mendes. Famous names to have visited POST include Melissa George, Kate Ceberano and actress Emma Booth. Follow their lead by flicking through racks of silk gowns, fine hand knits and cool cotton dresses, as well as ornamental plates, bell jars, and picture frames.
If the moment takes you, slip into a creation or two in the store's opulent couture salon with giant gilded mirror, black French chandelier and Kartell Louis Ghost chairs, all hidden away behind a billowing WWII parachute curtain.
For more statement pieces, check out POST's collection of Fornasetti plates, pretty Ibride serving trays from France, hand-painted Jason Miller tea sets and Redstr/collective's elaborate tea cup and saucer with 22-carat gold paint, by artist Tobias Wong. Other treasures include Harry Allen sculptures from New York and D.L. & Co's gothic collection of scented candles and curiosities. Even if you're just here to browse, you'll pick up a styling tip or two in this immaculate store.
