Rihanna’s diet secrets

Riding high on the back of mega-hit single "Umbrella", West Indian pop diva Rihanna has divulged her diet secrets.

Saying that all she wants is to be toned and healthy, the svelte singer claims to never have deliberately set out to lose weight.

"I'm working out and trying to eat healthy," she says of her slimming routine. "That's making me lose weight without even thinking about it. I'm not intentionally trying to get skinny."

Rihanna has said that her fitness regimen revolved around a great deal of cardio and weight training two or three times a week. "I work with a trainer," she explained. "We work on the arms. I don't want manly, muscular arms. We work out my butt because I love my butt. [But] my legs are my main focus. I'm obsessed."

In order to maintain her trim, taut, and terrific figure she's watching everything she eats (as opposed to putting it in her mouth with her eyes closed, no doubt), and consuming carrots, loving lettuce, cucumbers and egg whites, and making her snacks fruit-based ones, and drinking plenty of water.

But she's staying well away from pasta and the like: "I like carbs," she said, "but at the end of the day, carbs are the enemy."

Are carbohydrates really the enemy, or just your tasty friend?

i agree with aj2251, "im obsessed with my legs", yeah right... im so happy with my figure but i dont need pasta because its the enemy

i love pasta... actually everything and as long as i am happy i will continue to eat everything!! Looks arent everything!! i guess i am lucky though.. i have a toned body and i never even work out!!

I think it sounds fair, people who train do the best to eat the foods that your body can use. Carbs are an energy source but not so much a nutrient. So people serious about sport/dancing or whatever usually eat well too. It's only natural that you shed all the excees body fat, whether you were trying or not.

diet secrets i thought i may actually learn something from this but its the same as every other celeb says i work out i watch what i eat,but with the help of a trainer no doubt.when people like me who cant afford a trainer and does all the watching what they eat and exercising cant lose any weight

aj2251, someone trying to lose weight is often like someone trying to maintain their weight and look after their bodies..... exercise and a healthy diet is an essential part of life. Cardio is good for your heart and weight training can take off just as much weight as cardio. It increases your metabolism due to building muscle mass. And to Kirsty Daws, having a good body and not doing anything to keep it isn't necessary the a blessing.... you'll get older and your internal functioning will suf

cmthrupp, I totally understand the concept of eating and building lean muscle mass which will burn more calories, i was merely commenting that for someone who "watches everything she eats and consuming carrots..." does not sound like someone who is JUST trying to be healthy, but in fact is trying to lose weight, maybe it's just the way I read it, maybe it's just the way it is written...And you are absolutely correct in saying having a good body without working on only lasts til about 30 when met

you can eat what you want as long as you put the effort into working it off you don't have to, stay right away from the bad food its alright now and then, and you also don't need a personal trainer or anything like that to keep yourself fit and healty and have a body like pamela anderson or any other celeb that u which you had a body like that. Eat Right,Work Right, and put the work into what you eat, but if your going to go out and get 2 KFC buckets of whatever then you will have a hard day of
