MTV Movie Awards 2007

The 2007 MTV Movie Awards were hosted by acerbic American comedian Sarah Silverman, and featured musical performances by Rihanna featuring Jay-Z performing her new hit "Umbrella", and English blues chanteuse Amy Winehouse, performing a medley of "Rehab" and "You Know I'm No Good".

Held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, in a first for the Awards, it was the first MTV Movie Awards show to be broadcast live to American audiences.

'Survivor' producer Mark Burnett directed the show and executive produced this years ceremony, with nominees announced on April 30, 2007, and voting for the main categories running until the end of May for American audienced to vote on.

As always, parodies of films played a major part in the telecast, and this year included The Devil Wears Prada, Transformers, and 300.

Winners on the night included:

Best Movie: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Best Performance: Johnny Depp - Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Breakthrough Performance: Jaden Smith - The Pursuit of Happyness

Best Comedic Performance: Sacha Baron Cohen - Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan

Best Kiss: Will Ferrell & Sacha Baron Cohen - Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

Best Villain: Jack Nicholson - The Departed

Best Fight: Gerard Butler vs. "The Uber Immortal" (The Spartan/Persian Battle) - 300

Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet: Transformers

mtvU Best Filmmaker On Campus: Josh Greenbaum - Border Patrol (University of Southern California)

MTV Generation Award: Mike Myers

Bret, I hear you, but people who live in glass houses should not throw stones...
It's "they're", not "their"; you asked a question, so it should have a question mark; you're talking about the subject of the sentence so it's "who" not "whom" and finally, it's "too much" not "to" because you're referring to an excess.
Moreover, if we are all such a bunch of sheep, why are you at this site reading our comments?

I would love to be famous for no reason at all. Sure she may be a whore but really, if anyone could be as rich and famous as she is, wouldnt you rather sit around and shop all day than work for the next 40 years of your life?!

is it funny the way that this article is about the mtv music awards yet you are all goin on all this crap about paris just coz her picture is there?? yer she is a very popular person, but i dont like her personally not for the way she looks but the way she gets all this attention because her dad is rich. you all should wake up and realise there are people who like her and people who dislike her just accept it and move on, and if people like saying lol then let em go it doesnt harm you in anyway
