
The 2007 MTV Movie Awards were hosted by acerbic American comedian Sarah Silverman, and featured musical performances by Rihanna featuring Jay-Z performing her new hit "Umbrella", and English blues chanteuse Amy Winehouse, performing a medley of "Rehab" and "You Know I'm No Good".
Held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, in a first for the Awards, it was the first MTV Movie Awards show to be broadcast live to American audiences.
'Survivor' producer Mark Burnett directed the show and executive produced this years ceremony, with nominees announced on April 30, 2007, and voting for the main categories running until the end of May for American audienced to vote on.
As always, parodies of films played a major part in the telecast, and this year included The Devil Wears Prada, Transformers, and 300.
