Michael Jackson's family are reportedly "horrified" with Joe Jackson. The late singer's siblings were astounded when Joe used the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards show on Sunday (28.06.09) - where several stars, including Michael's sister Janet Jackson, paid tribute to the pop icon - to promote his new Ranch Records label rather than celebrate Michael's life. The Chicago Sun Times newspaper reported: "Sources backstage Sunday night at the BET Awards tell me even Janet Jackson - and other Jackson family members - were 'really horrified' when they learned Michael Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, started plugging his new Ranch Records label as he walked the red carpet at the show, which was totally reworked to honour Michael's memory and legacy."

Joe's controversial comments came as he spoke with CNN presenter Dom Lemon about his late son, who died of a suspected cardiac arrest on Thursday (25.06.09). When Dom asked how Michael's mother Katherine and siblings were coping, Joe said: "They are all doing fine. But I wanted to make this statement. This is a real good statement here! "Marshall and me own a record label called Ranch Records..." His business partner, Marshall Thompson added: "It's driven by Blu-ray technology, and that's his next step."

The interview ended moments later, when Dom attempted to direct questions back to the 'Thriller' singer. A guest at the event said the Jackson family should not be "surprised" by Joe's outburst because of the pair's troubled relationship. The source said: "You know, it probably shouldn't come as a big surprise. Well, that's just Joe. He cares about Michael for what he can do for him, dead or alive." Yesterday (30.06.09) it was revealed Michael - who had previously accused his father of physical abuse during his childhood - has left his father nothing in his will. Michael's entire estate has been given to his mother Katherine, three children Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II and several charities. The Wall Street Journal reports the will - drafted in 2002 - was the last one Michael had made.
