A month ago it was rumoured that Scarlett Johansson was due to star in the Broadway production of 'South Pacific'.
The stunning actress is doing nothing to hose down the stories - if anything, she's putting further fuel on the fire, admitting that she's a huge fan of the show, which is currently scheduled to open at the Lincoln Center in January 2008.
If Scarlett was to appear in the musical she wouldn't be playing a secondary role - instead, the 'Black Dahlia' stunner would take on the role of Nellie Forbush. "I've thought about it," she recently admitted. "Wouldn't it be great? Though I'd have to be named 'For Bush', which I don't think I could stomach."
Given that Scarlett is due to unleash her debut album - rumoured to be an all Tom Waits covers release - sometime in 2007, perhaps the Oscar-Grammy-Tony triumvirate of awards is not out of the question for this multi-talented beauty.
In further Scarlett music news, it appears the blonde vixen is teaming with veteran English rockers the Jesus & Mary Chain.
The band are set to play their first gigs since they split up in 1998, and have confirmed that Scarlett will be joining them for their first warm-up show...whether or not Scarlett with continue to perform with the ‘Psychocandy' superstars at the famed Coachella music festival remains to be seen.
