Gwyneth pooh-pooh's drinkers

Mar 27 09:36am

Showing that she has taken really well to the 'stiff upper lip' of the British, Gwyneth has announced that she thinks it is "inappropriate" for women to get drunk.

The 34-year-old actress is known for her extreme willpower, abstaining nearly completely from alcohol and following a vegan macrobiotic diet. Her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, is a teetotaller as well, surely meaning that the Paltrow-Martin household is very, very civilised.

Gwyneth said: "I think it's gross! I really don't like drunk women, it's such a bad look. I think it's completely inappropriate."

But just last month, when Gwyneth spoke of her well-connected friends, she said "I have friends like Stella McCartney or Madonna, and very often our children get together to play. Although we usually leave them in bed and stay to drink a glass of wine!"

Funny that - she made some Campari adds in Italy which featured Gwyneth and friends stealing oranges from a farmer to make their drinks. The end of the ad was Gwyneth saying "Campari, il mio Campari"!

That's a bit sexist isn't it Gwyneth?! I think that men rolling around drunk isn't such a great look either! And I hope this is not just about 'the look' of it, which would seem pretty superficial to me....I would be more concerned about what it's doing to their health!!!

I'm with boonoora...each to their own. I dress how I want to dress, I think how I want to think, and if I want to go and get dreadfully drunk...I will! I work really hard all week, so come the weekend if I want to drink I will...I'm sure as hell not going to let what Ms Prissy Pants thinks worry me. But that's not to say that I'm going to get so intoxicated that I can't walk, but my opinion is, if that is what people are doing...it's for a reason. They are trying to deal with something...

I think women who use the word 'gross' and name their children after fruit - are completely inapproprate!

Funny! She's sexist to her own kind! Men are gross too when they're drunk.

I think women should drink for all the reasons stated. Makes them easier to pull! ;-P

Gwyn should learn to keep her mouth shut. Each to their own. No one is picking on her for her lifestyle choice so what gives her the right to say about others. She can't even give her children proper names.. Oh those poor kids, I pity them!!

This is coming from someone who names their child Apple??? Please.... Just another celebrity speaking out of turn when they have no right.... Noone looks good drunk but we do it occasionally anyway to remind ourselves why we shouldn't...My "drunk" day is Anzac Day. Being a member of the Defence Force I challenge anyone to tell my I can't drink on the most sacred day of the year......Getting drunk occasionally is not an issue but bingeing and alcoholism that's a different story & instead of whin
