Depp fan forks out $91,000

He's gorgeous, super-intelligent and cooler than ice but would you fork out $USD91,000 just to stand near Johnny Depp?

Well there's a Gilbert Grape groupie out there who would. Apparently a fan paid the staggering amount to appear as an extra in a non-speaking role opposite the Oscar-nominated actor. Titled 'Public Enemies' the film tells the story of America's criminal folk hero John Dillinger.

Money from the charitybuzz.com auction will go to the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial, a living memorial which aims to "advance the human rights movement by providing innovative support to courageous human rights defenders
around the world who have won the RFK Human Rights Award".

Charitybuzz.com CEO Coppy Holzman said: "We are thrilled to have been able to raise so much money for Robert's wife Ethel Kennedy and The RFK Memorial."

Got some spare change? You might want to bid for other experiences available in the auction, which runs until May 14, including the chance to meet Will Smith at the premiere of his new film 'Hancock' and the opportunity to star in hit US TV show 'Numb3rs'.

I think you should read the article. Johnny doesn't get the money. A fan won an auction for charity to get the spot on the movie, they didn't pay Depp himself.

and yes he is the hottest man alive but there's no way i'd pay that much to stand near him, kiss him maybe ;o)

are you kidding? i'm no millionaire, if i were, i won't do that either. totally not value for money, and nobody worth that kind of price. we are all equal human and what makes them so special???

First it was for charity so good on them human rights is worth while cause its just a shame that most of that mony will be tied up in admistration cost rather than highlight some of the horrors that accur everyday aound the world in any case i am so much better looking so the bidding starts @ $1
