Dr Harry's clinic - 3 problems solved

Read more about some of Dr Harry's 'clients'.

Unstable cat

Despite losing a leg in a fight with a dog, this brave old pussy has recovered well. To make life a lot easier and overcome instability, a cat in this condition could use a scratching post with a ramp. When the cat gets used to having only three legs the ramp can be removed.

Pongy pooch

This little Maltese has bad breath. Examining the mouth reveals the teeth need a good clean with a doggy toothbrush and toothpaste. Chewing on raw (never cooked) chicken necks and wings will help keep the teeth clean and the dog a more welcome member of the family - phew!

Clawing bunny

These rabbits need a pedicure. Rabbits kept indoors don't have the chance to run around on rough surfaces, which is the natural way rabbits keep nails in check. So a little filing will put paid to poor paws.

Hi Dr Harry
I remember a little while back you treated a chicken for bumblefoot on your program. Please can you advise the name of the product as my vet has no idea and I cant remember (you painted it on the foot of the chicken). Thanks Caroline

Dear Harry,
We have two burmese cats, 8 and 15 years of age who get on famously. We have just received another burmese cat (aged 4) who instantly was OK with the older cat but chases the 8 year old out of the house - and fights him if they are baled up. It's now been three weeks - any advice? Jan

Dr Harry,
We found a tick on our dog a couple of months ago - which we removed. We monitored our dog, but he showed no signs of illness from the tick. Progressively since then he has been losing his voice. His bark has diminished to a whisper. Would this be a result of the tick?
