February 14th - Busy little bees

Feb 14 04:40pm
Yesterday, for me in my role as Kids' Editor, was a fun filled day prepping and shooting my May kids' pages (Bee Movie recipes).

Dixie my foodie lady made some of the most gorgeous treats and trust me, when the magazine goes on sale (2 April) you just HAVE to make the (choc) iceblocks. I have to admit I was devouring one at 10am, that's how good they were!

I took a few little snaps with the box brownie (digi cam for you techno people) to give you a little insight into what a food shoot looks like. The picture above is actually the kitchen our food editor cooks in on her shoot days.

This shot is Chris's camera set up with all of his reflector boards (which are made of foam), and his lighting equipment around the table we were shooting on. Looks quite small doesn't it?

Now all I have to do is finish writing the recipes with the help of Dixie and download the pics when Chris sends them; then I need to send my feature through to the wordsmiths and creative people on the team, and before I know it, it'll all be made into some damn spunky pages.

Ciao for now

Jo
