December 11th - Glitter everywhere!

As part of my many roles here at BH&G, one of the most fun is being the kids editor. I get to check out all the cool new toys and also give away some of them, too!

And, the response to the December and Christmas Better Kids competitions this year has been ENORMOUS. Quite possibly the largest yet. As a result, I have had to enlist the help of two very special friends of mine (Eddie on the left and Rocky the reindeer on the right).

I absolutely love all the trouble the kids go to when putting their entries together: pasting, sticking, drawing and smothering with glitter, and now my lounge room looks like a glitter bomb has gone off.

As you can see, there are still lots of envelopes to open before judging begins on Friday 14 December. And, for those of you who still want to send in pics, the kids' Christmas competition in Family Circle magazine (page 165-166) closes on 31 December and will be judged on 7 January, so guess what I will be doing during my Christmas holidays?

Best of luck judging the competition, I can only imagine how difficult it's going to be with all that artistic talent. I'm sure Santa will bring many surprises to even those that don't win the Christmas competition.
