Knitted squares are needed for the needy. Please help us to warm them up with simple plain knitting.
'Better Homes and Gardens' together with
Wrap with Love are asking for knitted squares which will be made into blankets. The 2005 appeal was tremendous and we'd like to make the 2006 contribution just as great!
Here's howUsing 8ply wool and 4mm needles.
Step 1 Cast on about 50 stitches. The exact number will depend on your knitting tension (means how tight you pull the wool).
Step 2 Work garter stitch (plain knitting) until the square measures 25cm, then cast off.
Step 3 To make up a blanket, arrange 28 squares into four rows of seven. Thread the knitters needle with wool and gently slip stitch the squares together. Thread through all lengths of wool securely with the knitters needle.
Beginner's and crocheted blankets are GREAT too!Post to:Wrap with Love Inc

Wrap with Love have been distributing blankets to the needy both here and overseas for 10 years. The organisation was started by Sonia Gidley-King and she is still the powerhouse of energy behind this non-denominational, non-political willing group of workers. As Sonia says "cold humanity" is who they care for.

THANK YOU
We'd like to thank the many many people who have sent blankets and squares so far. We have received over 18,000 squares and over 500 blankets. It is just not possible to record all the names here and so many parcels have been sent in anonymously, but we do thank you all so very very much.
