Pins
Here's how1 Fold the fabric in half to make a piece 17.5 x 15cm, then press the fold to make a crease. Place the design under one half of the fabric, about 1.5cm above the crease. Pin in place and trace.
2 One strand of embroidery cotton is used for the design. Double back stitch the bow in mauve (210).
3 In the same colour, work several bullion stitches at the top of the stems to make the flowers.
4 Work stem stitch for the stalks and small fly stitches for the leaves, all in the green (368) cotton. Dampen the fabric and embroidery and press on the wrong side.
Making up the bag1 Trim the width of the fabric to 11cm, keeping the design in the centre. Fold in half with the embroidery inside, machine 5mm seams and zigzag or overlock the edges. Shell stitch a narrow hem at the top with the mauve machine thread.
2 Find the mid-point of the ribbon and sew it to the middle of the back of the sachet, 5cm from the hem.
FinishingFill the sachet with dried lavender and tie the ribbon in a bow.
