Try glittering stars for your tree, front door or table.Choose a Christmas theme and personalise these stars to match. Make them up in bright colours or starry gold and silver. Stars are a snack to make - careful cutting is the key to a neat finish.
They make great gift tags, too.
You'll need:Screenboard (900UMS)
Spray paint (gold or the colour of your choice)
Glitter (we used gold)
Pencil and tracing paper
Scalpel and cutting mat (or use a stack of old newspapers to cut on)
Metal ruler
Glue pen
Large needle
Cord for hanging (we used gold cord)
Here's how:1. Enlarge the star on a photocopier or draw it yourself. The star pattern needs to be 12.5cm across to make hanging decorations, or 10.5cm across to make gift tags.
2. With the pencil and tracing paper, trace the pattern on the screenboard.
Cut out the stars using the scalpel, metal ruler and cutting mat.
3. Spray one side of the stars with spray paint. Let the paint dry, then spray the other side.
4. With the glue pen, draw around the edges of the front of the stars and sprinkle a generous amount of glitter on top. Let the glue dry, then shake off any excess glitter. Do the same to the back of the stars if you want.
5. Use a needle to make a small hole near one point of each star and thread through a length of gold cord. Knot the ends ready to hang.
