Craft blog - meet the new editor

Apr 03 03:19pm

Read the latest blog from our new Craft Editor, Francesca Heymann.

Hi, I'm the new Craft Editor on the magazine. Up until recently I was working with the TV team, and now I'm hoping to share my passion for craft with you through the mag.

I hope to inspire you into trying the creative, beautiful, and very satisfying projects we have planned.

My aim is to offer you a variety of ideas that everyone can try,  even the ‘absolute beginner', with straightforward instructions so you can surround your homes with luscious and sumptuous home wares.

In May's magazine (out now), there are cosy throws and cushions to be made, and in the next issue, we'll be showing you how to dress your home handsomely for winter. There are tweeds and suiting fabrics for a rich and opulent effect.

Watch this space for more from me!

Until next time,

Francesca

I decided to make the Sunflower Clock on page 100 of the May issue. The instructions state that I need 1.5mm thick plywood. I cannot get 1.5mm anywhere. They dont have it at Bunnings, Mitre 10, my local timber suppliers. They all only stock 3mm. It is very frustrating. Any ideas or suggestions???

Hi Francesca. I have been reading a Aug 2004 back issue and LOVED your woolly rug from the "Wonder Blanket" pattern. Is the pattern still available? I live in New Zealand. Many thanks. Anne

Hi Francesca
I am knitting the textured throw from July 2005, got the pattern off the site, found the key but cannot find the diagram which shows how all the pieces go together. Can you help me? If you can could you please email me at annetteedmonds@hotmail.com.
Love what you are doing

Rob,

I so agree... and his funeral today made me even sadder. So touching that all the women wore pants. It's true - he really did liberate us. So maybe something about pants..?

Just a thought. (I'm a big fan too!)
