How to fold a T-shirt in 3 perfect folds

Mar 31 11:45am

Follow these tips for a perfectly folded t-shirt ... as seen in the April 2008 issue of Better Homes and Gardens magazine, and on TV (Watch the video).

STEP 1 Lay the T-shirt face up on a flat surface and at an angle to you. Here, we've marked all of the pinch points with yellow dots to make understanding the folding process easier.

STEP 2 Using your left hand, pinch a point just out from the neck edge furthest from you. Working in a straight line down from the neck, pinch the middle of the T-shirt with your right hand.

STEP 3 Maintaining a vertical straight line and still pinching, cross your left hand over your right, taking the neck edge to the hem edge. Pinch the edges together with your left hand and hold.

STEP 4 Still pinching, uncross and extend your hands while lifting the T-shirt (the loose arm will drop). As you uncross your hands, the edges and arm of the side you are holding will automatically tuck inside the half-folded T-shirt.

STEP 5 Still holding the T-shirt with both hands, lower and rest it face down on the flat surface. Now, fold the side you are holding away from you and over the loose sleeve and side.

Clever thanks, we have a clever way of 'rolling-undies' to save space and keep them tidy in your drawers (excuse the pun).

It took me ages to get this right. It looks so easy when you are watching it done, but I left it for a few months and now I can't get enough t-shirts to fold! It's great especially when you are single mum with a mountain of clothes from the kids.
Thanks a million
