Sweet juicy grapes not only taste great, they're good for you, too. They are a good source of vitamin A, for healthy skin and eyes; B vitamins, for energy and nerve health; and folic acid, adequate supplies of which may be crucial to healthy ageing.
Grapes also contain iron, potassium, phosphorus, and the memory mineral, manganese. Red grapes even include a powerful anti-oxidant called resveratrol, which helps to lower cholesterol.
Chickpeas
Need more protein in your diet? Then forget the steak and make a meal with chickpeas. Half a cup of chickpeas, one cup of rice, and fresh vegetables will give you the same amount of usable protein as a medium-sized steak. And chickpeas, like all the other legumes, have lots more benefits. They’re low in fat, low in cholesterol, full of fibre and high in phytochemicals, a group of compounds that may help lower your risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease.
And here’s a tip: if you combine chickpeas with rice, you’ll increase the availability of the protein by more than 40 per cent.
