Powdery mildew

The powdery mildews are a group of fungi that coat leaves, young shoots, flowers and fruits with a conspicuous white or pale grey, ash-like film.

It occurs on many plants including vegetables and ornamentals.

Powdery mildew is more prevalent in warm, humid weather and spreads rapidly from plant to plant by wind.

Control:
Grow mildew-resistant varieties where possible.

Remove and destroy affected foliage. Avoid overcrowding and overhead watering. At first sign of infection, spray with an approved chemical at regular intervals.

Give me a break ... An 'approved chemical'? ...I'm not into chemicals if at all avoidable {and they ussually are]. I guess I'll have to go elsewhere to find info that is not supported by the petro chemical industry.

We have a Better Homes and Garden Compression Sprayer. It is a 2 gallon. On the side it says "quality multi-purpose sprayer." The brass nozzle/tip has been lost. Where can we get another one? I can't find anything on the internet.
