Dollar spot

Dollar spot is a common fungal disease in lawns. It leaves circular, dead patches about 5cm across.

Bent grass and blue couch are particularly susceptible.

The disease attacks both leaves and stems and occurs in late spring, summer and early autumn when the weather is warm and humid. Brown patch is similar, causing irregular, straw-coloured dead patches with a dark outer margin.

Control:
Regular doses of nitrogenous fertiliser will keep the grass healthy.

To control dollar spot or brown patch treat with an approved fungicide as soon as discolouration appears.
