Succulents

Grow your own
Gather your supplies

One bag of seed-raising or propagating mix
Seaweed solution
Sharp clean knife, secateurs or scissors
Small pots

Here’s how
STEP 1 Fill pot with seed-raising mix to near the rim and water with a seaweed solution.

STEP 2 Take stem or leaf pieces from established succulent plants.

STEP 3 Using a sharp blade, trim off the uneven ends
of the cuttings.

STEP 4 Gently push the cuttings into the seed-raising mix. About a quarter of their length should be submerged below the soil level. Rest the cuttings on the edge of the pot for support – this area is warmer, so it encourages faster root development. Water lightly with a seaweed solution.

STEP 5 Keep your cuttings in a warm position and water as needed to keep the mix lightly moist, but not wet. In as little as 2 months, your cuttings will have developed roots.
