Keeping your car clean on the outside and inside will make it more pleasurable to drive, and can increase the value of your car when you sell it. Some substances such as sap from trees and bird droppings can damage your car duco, so wash off thoroughly as soon as possible.
Keep it garaged
Garaging your car can help to keep it clean and may also decrease your insurance premium. If this is not possible, you can buy car covers from auto shops to help protect it from dust and other foreign substances. (Although this will not contribute to a reduced insurance).
Cleaning tips
When cleaning your car, use detergents that are specifically for car washing; dishwashing liquid may damage your paintwork. Also use clean sponges and cloths. If you drop your sponge while cleaning it can pick up dirt. Unless you clean your sponge you can risk scratching your car with the dirt.
Conserve water
Due to water restrictions in many states, there are set regulations for car washing at home which includes washing your car on a grass surface as well as using a bucket instead of a hose.
