Comfort Eating

Jun 17 09:20am
Question: I was wanting to know if you could recommend a natural way of dealing with depression and excess weight.

Since my father pass away apx 1yr ago I have fallen into a depressive state and also to make the depression worse I was comfort eating which has made me the biggest I have ever been in the life (even bigger than when I was pregnant). I have got to a stage where I am sick of feeling sick, tired, very lethargic, over weight, depressed etc.

I have seen what anti depressants have done to close friends and don't want to end up the same. So I have just been trying to deal with it all cold turkey so to say. Which is not good cause of the mood swings.

I would prefer to take or try a natural alternative to help me with my problems.

Answer: I'm so sorry to hear about your problems with depression and the associated problem with your weight.

Unfortunately, as I think you could appreciate, it would be very difficult to offer treatment advice for such a situation over the internet as there are so many different issues that would need to be discussed to be able to provide meaningful assistance.

I think it is very important for you situation to be discussed with a suitably qualified healthcare professional. As you have mentioned you are looking to consider natural treatment options, what I can suggest is that you have a look at the website address I will provide below. This is a medical association in Australia whose members are also trained in a wide variety of natural medicines and therapies. They also provide a GP location service based on where you live.

I think this is so important for you right now Suzi, as searching for natural medicines without the accompanying guidance from a healthcare professional could be more problematic than doing nothing at all.

Once you have received professional health, there will likely be tonic products within the Herron range that could be helpful eg the Ginseng Complex with 2 types of ginseng, magnesium and B vitamins that can help with relief of exhaustion and also aid endurance and stamina.
